Seller Fees
Sierra does not publicly advertise its seller/consignment fee schedule; prospective sellers are instructed to contact Sierra for rates and inclusions.
Storage Holding Fees
2025 Late/Storage Fees (posted on Fee Structure page): Vehicles & Equipment: $40 per vehicle first day, increases by $20 each additional day (e.g., Mon $40, Tue $60, Wed $80, etc.). Surplus: $20 per lot first day, increases by $10 each additional day; any surplus lots not picked up by the following Wednesday may be considered abandoned and resold without refund. Terms & Conditions (revised 3/5/2025) also state: storage fee of $20.00/day/lot begins after 3:00 PM on the payment due date noted on the invoice; to avoid daily storage fees, remove by the date specified in the invoice. Note: Sierra states policies are subject to change; follow the invoice email for the controlling pickup deadline.
Who can Register
Open to the public (not dealer-only). Register online via the 'Register to Bid' link on Sierra's platform. Requirements: valid government-issued ID; 18+ to register (16+ to enter property); business details if purchasing under a company; dealer/resale certificate if applicable. Deposit policies: Sierra may place a $100–$500 registration deposit hold if criteria aren’t met (e.g., $100 for onsite-only; up to $250 for vehicles/equipment). For vehicle/commercial equipment wins, a non-refundable $250 deposit per winning bid is proactively charged to the card on file and applied to the invoice. Payment is due by 3:00 PM on the date specified in the invoice email.
Fees and Methods
Payment Methods
Payments are NOT accepted in person on-site. Accepted: online card payment via Sierra’s portal (3% surcharge on total invoice; some surplus invoices paid in full by end of business Monday after a Sunday close may avoid the card fee per posted note), PayPal via the bidder portal (2% surcharge per Fee Structure page), Bank of America direct deposit, Bank of America wire transfer (bank fee may apply), cashier’s check deposited at Bank of America (when applicable per Terms). Explicitly NOT accepted: personal or business checks; payments by phone, mail, email, text; Sierra does not automatically charge cards on file except for the required $250 per-winning-bid vehicle/commercial equipment deposit.
Bidding Methods
Online. Bidding occurs on Sierra’s own auction platform (sierraauction.auctioneersoftware.com). Some specialized inventory is sold via third-party marketplaces (GovDeals and AllSurplus), which require accounts on those platforms. No in-person bidding is indicated for current Tucson events.
Rules and Notes
Extended Notes
Platform and apps: Bidding for Tucson events occurs on Sierra’s own platform (AuctioneerSoftware.com) via web; no specific buyer or transporter mobile app is required or referenced by Sierra. Some Sierra inventory also sells on third-party marketplaces (GovDeals, AllSurplus), which have their own accounts/apps. Deposits: Current Tucson vehicle event tiles explicitly state a $250 credit card authorization is required to bid, and vehicle/commercial equipment winners are auto-charged a $250 non-refundable deposit per winning lot. Load-out/payment windows and preview times are posted on each event tile and reiterated in the invoice email body, which Sierra instructs buyers to read carefully. Storage fees: The 2025 Fee Structure page lists stepped daily storage for vehicles and surplus, while the Terms (revised 3/5/2025) cite $20/day/lot beginning after 3:00 PM on the payment due date; follow your invoice email for the controlling rule as Sierra notes policies are subject to change. Driving/transport: Sierra suggests (not requires) that buyers have a 1–3 day temporary registration tag when picking up vehicles; out-of-state transport is buyer-arranged; vehicles are sold AS-IS and may be unsafe to drive; keys may not be present for inoperable units.
Pickup Rules
Follow the pickup location, dates, and hours in the body of your invoice email; Sierra emphasizes that auction-specific pickup info is in the invoice email body (not the PDF). Payment must be completed before arrival; no on-site payments accepted. Buyer is responsible for loading and removal; Sierra may assist at its discretion and may charge at its hourly rate (1.5x for after 3:00 PM or non-standard days). Items not removed by the specified removal date incur daily storage penalties and may be forfeited per terms. To authorize another person to pick up: email a copy of your valid ID, a completed chargeback waiver, and the pickup person’s full name and valid ID to cashiers@sierraauction.com.
