Who can Register
IAA supports two buyer types: Individual (Public) Buyers and Licensed Business Buyers. Public buyers can bid only at auctions/vehicles open to the public (varies by state) and may need a broker in states that restrict public buying (e.g., California often requires licensed business or broker for many salvage units). Licensed Business Buyers can bid where their license meets state rules. Registration is online (website or via IAA Buyer App) with document upload. A $200 registration fee is required at sign‑up (credit/debit card).
