Auctions are scheduled as announced; recent examples include Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at 10:00 AM, and Thursday, July 31, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
Buyer Fee Details
Buyers must pay in full by cash immediately following the sale, including 8.875% sales tax. A tow yard charge of $98.00, payable in cash, is required to remove a purchased vehicle from the yard. Locksmiths are present to make keys for a fee, payable in cash to the locksmith.

The NYC Sheriff and Marshal make no representations on the functionality, safety, and recalls of the vehicles auctioned. Potential purchasers are strongly encouraged to conduct their own research on the history of the vehicles they wish to bid on. Vehicle safety recall information can be researched online at https://vinrcl.safercar.gov/vin/. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) site lets you enter a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to learn if a specific vehicle has not been repaired as part of a safety recall in the last 15 years.
Policies
・All vehicles are sold 'as is' with no warranties. Purchasers have no legal recourse against the City, including the Department of Finance, the NYC Sheriff, the NYC Marshal, and the auctioneer.
・Purchasers buy the right, title, and interest to a vehicle, subject to any and all recorded liens. Vehicles with liens may be subject to repossession by the lien holder.
・Vehicle keys do not come with these vehicles. Locksmiths are present and will make a key for a fee payable in cash to the locksmith.

Pickup Rules
Vehicles must be removed from the tow yard by 5:00 PM on the day of the auction. Failure to do so will result in a storage fee of $20 per day. Vehicles not picked up within 96 hours after 5:00 PM of the auction date will be considered abandoned and disposed of.
