As we continue to grow, Auto Hauler Exchange is looking for an Accounting & Collections Specialist to join our team!
JOB DESCRIPTION:
As an Accounting & Collections Specialist with AHX you will be responsible for general accounting duties such as processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and assisting with month-end close, while also leading collection efforts on outstanding receivables. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and the ability to work across departments—particularly with sales—to resolve delinquent accounts efficiently and professionally.
RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but are not limited to):
- Process accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions
- Post journal entries and assist with general ledger maintenance
- Assist with monthly close and financial reporting
- Aggressively pursue past-due customer accounts to reduce aging balances
- Initiate collection calls, emails, and follow-up correspondence with delinquent customers
- Negotiate and manage payment arrangements or escalate unresolved accounts per company policy
- Maintain accurate records of all communications and payment activity
- Consistently communicate with the sales team to keep them informed of any at- risk or delinquent accounts
- Support audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and procedures
- Assist with other administrative and accounting tasks as needed
ABOUT YOU:
- 2–4 years of experience in accounting and/or collections
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Strong working knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Experience with Quickbooks
- Proficient with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Experience working with cross-functional teams (especially Sales) is a plus

SCHEDULE:
- 8 hour shift - 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday - Friday
- Weekends as needed
