Buyer Fee Details
Buyer fees vary based on the final sale price and payment method. For example, for standard vehicles with clean titles over $15,000, the fee is 7.25% of the bid amount if paid with a secure payment method, or 12.25% if paid with a non-secure payment method.
Extended Notes
Members who pay with secured payment methods enjoy a Secured Funds discount on all fees. High volume dealers who purchase 25 cars a year and/or spend $75,000 a year with Copart qualify for additional fee discounts.
Policies
・A Gate Fee of $79 is applied to all purchases when vehicles are picked up. This fee covers administrative costs and moving the vehicle to the Member loading area.
・An Environmental Fee of $10 is applied to each item sold, which covers the cost of precise handling and care in compliance with environmental regulations.
・If the vehicle amount and all applicable fees aren’t paid within 3 business days, including the day of the auction, Copart will charge a $50 per vehicle late payment fee.
Payment Methods

・Accepted secure payment methods include debit cards, wire transfers, money orders, cashier's checks, MoneyGram, cash, company checks, and available funds in Copart account. Non-secure payment methods include credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay.
Pickup Rules
Vehicles purchased and not removed from Copart parking or loading facilities by 4:45 p.m. (local time at the facility) will be moved to the locked storage area and will only be released upon payment of an additional gate and storage fee if applicable.
Seller Fees
Listing fees vary by vehicle type and condition. For standard cars, the listing fee is $25. Sale fees are a percentage of the final sale price: 5% for vehicles under $5,000, 3% for cars between $5,000 and $10,000, and 2% for vehicles over $10,000.
Storage Holding Fees
Storage fees are charged daily if you leave your vehicle at a Copart location for longer than three business days. Fees start at $5 per day on the fourth day and increase incrementally up to $30 per day after ten days.
Who can Register
Copart offers different membership levels: Guest Membership (Free) allows browsing without bidding; Basic Membership ($99/year) allows bidding on vehicles up to $2,000; Basic Membership with Deposit ($99/year plus a 10% deposit of the desired max bid) allows bidding over $2,000; Premier Membership ($249/year plus a $400 refundable deposit) allows spending up to $100,000 daily.
